Common questions
How do I sign in or create an account?
Open the profile menu from the Home tab (profile button or swipe in from the left edge). Use Log in or Sign up. You can also use Tallie as a guest without an account for a few local circles.
I can’t log in / I forgot my password
Check you’re using the right email. Use
Forgot password? on the login screen to receive a reset link. If you still can’t access your account, email
hello@tallieup.app.
How do I upgrade to Plus or Pro?
Sign in, then tap your plan pill on the Home tab (top right), or open the profile sidebar and choose Upgrade plan / Manage plan. Pick Plus or Pro, then monthly or annual. New eligible subscribers get a 7-day free trial. Prices come from the App Store or Google Play for your region; annual is billed as 12 months for the price of 10.
How do I restore purchases or use a promo code?
In the upgrade flow, tap Restore purchases after reinstalling or switching devices. On iOS, use Have a code? to redeem an Apple offer code. On Android, redeem in the Play Store first, then restore in Tallie. To cancel or change billing, use your Apple ID or Google Play subscription settings.
How do I create a circle?
On the Circles tab, tap the + FAB. Name the circle, choose a currency (or custom unit on Plus/Pro), add people by name or invite by Tallie ID / friends, then create.
Can I edit an expense after logging it?
Tallie uses an immutable ledger — entries aren’t silently edited. Open the transaction and use undo or amend so the history stays honest for everyone in the circle.
How do settlements and Tallie Up work?
When someone pays another person back, record a settlement (who paid whom and how much). Use Tallie Up / call it even when you want to clear balances without logging a cash transfer. Balances update for everyone in the circle.
How do friends and invites work?
Signed-in users can add friends by Tallie ID on the Friends tab, invite them into circles from Add People, and see shared nets on Friend Details. Guests see a sign-in prompt on Friends.
Does Tallie work offline?
Yes. Circles are stored on your device first. When you’re signed in and online, changes sync to the cloud in the background.
What does closing or archiving a circle do?
Closing prevents new expenses and membership changes. Archiving makes the circle read-only and removes it from active lists. History is kept either way.
How do I delete my account?
Open the Home profile menu and choose
Delete Account, or email
hello@tallieup.app to request deletion of your account and personal data. Circle history that involves other members may be retained for their records.
I found a bug — how do I report it?
Email
hello@tallieup.app with what happened, what you expected, and your device / OS. Screenshots help a lot.
Tips
Upgrade from Home
Tap the Free / Plus / Pro pill in the Home top bar to compare plans and start a trial or subscription.
Pin circles on Home
Use the Home FAB / pin drawer to keep your most-used circles at the top. Pin limits depend on your plan (1 on Free, 3 on Plus, unlimited on Pro).
Pull to refresh
Pull down on Home or Circles to rehydrate local data and, when signed in, run a sync cycle.
Appearance
Open the Home profile sidebar and set theme to system, light, or dark.
Balances and debts
Circle Settings can show member balances, debts, or both — useful when you want settle-up edges without clutter.
